I like the idea floated to make 35 the toll road and 130 the interstate.
Get bypassers off of 35. Get most the trucks off of 35.
I always liked the way the interstate split downtown into two levels. More cities shou;d do that.

My family has land near Dripping Springs right on Hamilton Pool road less than a mile from the pool itself
you used to know where to turn because you see the llama farm at the stop sign

Have lived downtown in Chattanooga for the last 10 months. Bought a house a couple months ago. Really enjoy living here. Fun mid-size city. Both Atlanta and Nashville are about 2hrs away. Not beyond driving distance of Louisville and Cincinnati for a weekend either. Don't see Chattanooga's growth slowing down anytime soon. Not on Nashville's level of growth obviously, but respectable.

I've got family who have been in Austin since the late 70s. They've always said that once the slogan became "Keep Austin Weird", it was already no longer weird.
Yep, the days of the dragworms are long gone.
I miss old Austin, but like every city, things change.

That's a crazy pic. These southern boom town are nuts. Living in Charlotte now, it's hard to believe that the city had only 395k in 1990 and is now at about 835k, with tons of infill projects going on. I think there is about 10,000 apartment units currently under construction last I read.

True. Not to hijack, but Independence needs to be a freeway all the way to 485. That's one move that needs to happen.

Ok buddy. You got me there. Just pointing out a fact that some people may have missed which may skew results and perception. But who cares about facts in this day and age? Just take everything at face value, right?

Yankees don't like the cold weather and west coasters can find IT jobs in the South now that we have the infrastructure. They come, take jobs and raise prices.
I don't think it's a good thing and they should all take their balls and go home.

Well, I'm a Yankee who moved. Sorry man, I'm not going anywhere. I like it down here.

Just got back from there. I was fricking miserable.
Everyone just thinks they're so modern and hip. When they found out I was from Louisiana, one guy said, "Well you're in Austin, Texas now! This isn't the swamp! This is Austin, Texas!" I just about vomited all over his oxfords.

Went there yesterday -- it was the only thing I liked about the Austin area. One of the most beautiful places I've been to.

i think austin is a cool enough town, but they way many of its residents talk about it is hilarious. they really think it's the coolest, hippest place ever.
they make nola natives look realistic in their perception of their city.

Live in Austin since Katrina and have seen this place turn into something I never would have hoped it would become. Flip flops and tank tops off. Skinny jeans and high rises on.
