That is how the federal system works, kinda opposite of the state system. In the state criminal system (which is overwhelmed with cases), the longer you hold out the better the deal gets. In the federal system, the more you fight and delay the worse the deal gets and the more you get punished.

This is complete bullshite.
What she did hurt no one.
She didn't steal peoples life savings.
She didn't cause the stock market to tank.
She didn't kill anybody.
And they're putting her in prison for this?
Don't get me wrong; I'd love to see a lot of people in the entertainment industry thrown in prison, but doing this to her is complete waste of time and incarceration capacity and resources.

Should have just pled guilty in the beginning! Total waste of money, also just goes to mindset of her and hubbie thinking they could just buy their way out of this, until they finally realized they couldn't. Huffaman was smart pleaded guilt has gotten on with her life.
