You realize after 2020 and George Floyd many major cities quit reporting data to fbi crime databases? Anything after 2020 isn’t accurate so of course crime is going to be ‘down’ when high crime places stop reporting data

Now, parents are being arrested for letting their kid walk down the street

That happened to us. We let our 7 year old walk a half mile down the street to collect bamboo for a fort he was making. Some neighbor saw him and called the police. The officer picks him up, puts him in the back of his car and brings him back to our house. My kid is freaking out as if he's been arrested. The officer then tells my wife she'll be arrested if he's leave her sight again.

thanks to Brian Kemp we don't need those anymore.

Florida also does not require a conceal carry permit but there are still some pretty specific rules. I am sure you have checked on them deep but in Florida, it is not an open carry. I personally am going through the process to get my CC even though it is not required in Florida.

It is not required but you still must qualify for a permit to CC here. Plus the rules on carrying in your vehicle are specific.

My point is, make sure you know EXACTLY what the rules are in GA. I have learned a lot about the FL rules the past month or so and I was doing some things wrong before knowing what they were

You need to have a discussion with your neighbor.

the reason we have people shooting other people just for walking up their driveway is NOT because they are more likely to meet with violence from that person than they would have been 20 or 30 years ago.

It's because we have 30 streaming channels of 24 hour news and the internet and social media giving everyone the perception that they are in so much more danger than they used to be. We didn't have that in the early 90s and before.

A buddy hunts that area. He's what he heard:

quote:

Man's house had been broken into a few days prior. Heard dogs raising sand went outside hollored and they didn't answer.
Man fired shot in air. Driver pulled gun shot homeowner. Homeowner opened fire killed fire cheif and wounded 2 others.
News doesn't always tell the whole story.
