oh I don't have a kid, I thought I had read something about the rear facing seat earlier, my mistake.
But the point remains that if he just tossed something into the front seat he wouldn't have looked in the back seat and could easily have missed it. Or if he was doing something on his phone and not paying attention.
Like I said I think he likely did it on purpose, but we don't have all the facts and the lack of a clear motive at this point just makes me wonder what is going on.

Has there been another child in the Atlanta area to die like this recently that would have given him a reason to research some morbid shite like that?

i know there was one in Birmingham last year I think in the homewood area. The New York one got news, and I want to say there was another recent one in Florida. But those could still have just given him the idea to do it, or he could have heard the stories and wondered how long it took for those children to die in the car.

They don't recommend any kid under twelve sit in the front seat due to airbags, unless you can turn yours off, which most modern vehicles are capable of

Yup, we had a kid in the PICU that was internally decapitated because they were in the front seat when airbag went off. Force of airbag hitting their neck snapped spinal column.Kid was I think like 8 or so? Kid didn't make it obviously.

The father got to speak at the funeral via a phone call. The link is just the reporter saying this and that he was emotional.
I left my twins rear facing until they were 2. Lots of people keep their kids rear facing beyond 2. I've seen pic of 5-6 yr olds rear facing on some car seat forums.

I researched this stuff after reading this thread when it started. Does that make me sick?
This post makes no sense. What's your point?

You forgot to add in that if he is found guilty.
Simply researching it doesn't make him sick, unless it was part of a plan, which is not known at this point.

Seems to me there is lots of evidence to point to to premeditation.

Seems like it. In a case like this, I'd personally just rather wait until he is convicted. I couldn't imagine losing my son and then being accused of doing it on purpose if I didn't.

.Mom of toddler who died in car 'absolutely not' angry with husband
quote:
The mother of a Georgia toddler who died in a sweltering SUV emphatically told a crowd at her son's funeral she loves and stands by her husband, even though he was charged with murder in the child's death.
"Am I angry with Ross?" Leanna Harris said at the funeral in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. "Absolutely not. It has never crossed my mind. Ross is and was and will be, if we have more children, a wonderful father. Ross is a wonderful daddy and leader for our household. Cooper meant the world to him."

yeah, it's exhaustive, no pun intended.

Warrant states the mom had also researched child death in a car.
COBB COUNTY, Ga. —
WSB-TV obtained new police search warrants Sunday morning in the case against Ross Harris, the Cobb father accused of leaving his son in his car.
On Saturday, warrants stated Harris told police he researched child deaths inside vehicles because he was fearful it could happen to his son.
According to Sunday’s warrants, Harris’ wife, Leanna, also made similar statements to police about researching car deaths and how they occur.
Police used the warrants to seize several items from Harris' office and home, including several computers.
