I really want to play this course this spring...I've heard good things about it.

You'll be a sad banana if they don't improve the greens

I enjoy it quite a bit. It is exceptionally long and difficult from the tips, and I would highly recommend playing the course from the tees that correspond with your handicap. For example, playing from the Bear/Gold tees, you'll notice the total yardage is 7032 with a rating of 73.8 and a slope of 134. That is comparable - yet longer and more difficult - to the tips from a course like Santa Maria where the total yardage is 6969 with a rating of 73.4 and a slope of 132. If you ignore the recommended tees, you'll end up hating an otherwise beautiful course.

FYI, here is the scorecard:

They make a mean ribeye sammich.

And the coons are aggressive as previously stated.

Guys used to think it was cute to throw them some chips or bread and now the coons show up expecting freebies…and won't wait for you to hand it to them. They've even taken a cell phone or two. Crazy.

I know playing golf with strangers is a bit awkward at first, but I can never find anyone to play with. If you ever want to go, and can't find someone to tag along, I will be more than willing to drive over from Broussard and play there.

Where do you normally play around Lafayette? I play Bayou Bend in Crowley most of the time because I can never find anyone else to play with around Lafayette. I'm a member at Bayou Bend and there is a dog fight every day so I play with different people just about every time. I'm always looking to mix it up and play different courses though.

well the only course i have played in lafayette recently is the wetlands because the guy i go play with occasionally really loves that course. I live really close to Vieux Chenes but that course is always packed on weekends. I am open to playing anywhere around here really. I just like to get out and play.

I work about 5 minutes from Vieux Chenes but never play there because it's always so packed. You should make the trip to Crowley one day. It's a pretty fun course. Nothing great but in decent shape and only $30 I believe. There is a dog fight every day at 12:30 that anybody can play in and you will play with different people all the time. I got out of going to west Texas this week so I'm taking a half day Thursday and plan on playing somewhere. More than likely in Crowley
