I had an issue with them one time refusing to give up a local number on my business account. I was switching to a voip system. I contacted my PSC rep and he was able to get me the executive secretary of the President of ATT. She had my shite fixed in 2 days.

DirecTV's customer service used to be amazing but went to shite when they got taken over by AT&T.

With my job, I sometimes am required to contact AT&T. They are absolutely terrible as a customer service organization. I get transferred 4x then disconnected more that any customer ever should. They are terrible.

Bad customer service has become a business model. It's much cheaper to screw you and dare you not to come back. Almost everyone comes back though, especially when the services (cable, phone, electric...) are limited per area.

AT&T's specialty is poor customer service. But at my sister in laws house in Penscola their AT$T is screaming fast. Very impressive.
