I actually looked at their FB post last night because I was wondering why I hadn't seen a credit yet. The fine print does say 3 billing cycles. Blah blah blah

No, you don't have to trade in your iPhone 6 and buy theirs. We switched last week and my wife didn't want to trade in until the iPhone 7 comes out and they told her she could just keep it. All we had to do was change out the sim cards.

Verizon will have the new Iphone7 on Sept 23rd. It will be $31/month. You dont buy the phones outright like you do in the past. However, with this you pay the full amount but spread out over 2 years. But in a year if you decide you dont like the new phone you can get a different phone at no charge.
I've had Verizon for many years and still have the old plan but looking into getting new phones and that's how it works now. However you can get a 22% corporate discount.
