started hitting really hard just past 40. To think you are in the range of likely having less years ahead of you than behind you is really sobering.

I'm 52 and lost my dad, stepdad, and uncle all in the last few years. These were the men I could call for guidance on anything I was working on...plumbing, electrical, HVAC, engines, cars, trucks, ATVs, etc.

I was working on something a while back (can't remember what it was) and sure wished I could have called one of them.

That's when I realized I was getting old when they were all gone.

Thats so true. People always feel they are old then they age ten years and realize they weren't actually that old ten years ago. We all need to slow down and enjoy life more.

It's all perception of time when you become an adult. When you're a kid there is so much new all the time with different class every school year and everything seems new. Once you're in a routine as an adult it will seem to fly by. I find when I mix up my routine and experience new things it seems to really slow down.

Early 2000’s, probably 2006. I was 53.

Driving to a job site for a weekly construction meeting the radio played Bus Stop by The Hollies announcing at the end “That was The Hollies…number five on the Billboard Charts September 1966. Bus Stop .

Forty years. Unreal.

Our oldest daughter would have been 50 in 2023.

Math doesn’t lie.

My five year old grandson thinks he lives an eternity in the year between his birthday or waiting for Christmas to come again. It’s 20% of his life now.

It’s .014 of mine and Mrs M’s.

Time is relative, accelerating, and we’re living it really fast now, almost warp speed.
quote:

I want to know what became of the changes
We waited for love to bring

Were they only the fitful dreams
Of some greater awakening?

I've been aware of the time going by
They say, in the end, it's the wink of an eye

When the morning light comes streaming in You'll get up and do it again,
Amen…

…Are you there?
Say a prayer for the pretender
Who started out so young and strong
only to surrender

I’m 37 and going through a divorce. It seems like the last 20 years have just flown by, but once all the divorce stuff started it’s felt like it’s been crawling.

I don't really think about it much.

We're here, then we're gone, then onto the next phase.

Just trying to have some fun and treat others well during this phase.

I popped into a local breakfast place Monday morning after some errands

Saw an old friend that I graduated high school with and hadn’t seen in a while

She has 2 little children and was like yeah I just turned 36 and we are done with kids and I thought… I’ve known this girl for 30 years.. since first grade..

How are we all in our mid to upper 30’s now?

It seems like yesterday we were in high school and now it’s been so long.. the kids born in that year are entering college themselves now .

Where does the time go ?

When I retired at 67 yo. Man time is flying! I'm enjoying retirement and finally doing me things after devoting my life behind the wheel of a semi. I let negative people go and don't care what others think of me.
