We still don’t have power 8 hours later. It was a weird spur of the moment storm that fricked a lot of stuff up.

It's curious to me this doesn't happen more often honestly
Good to know your honest. I thought you might be lying.

Just learned that this woman worked with my wife (and her husband works within the same company as well). Tragic. I wonder what the protocol is for crane operators in general or with weather forecasts? Or would it not have mattered with the 70+MPH winds?

I live next to Love Field and the wind was insane. Lost power immediately and got it back about 8 hours later. They recorded 71 MPH wind gusts at Love Field

I'm in Oak Lawn about 5 minutes from Love Field & we still don't have power back. The status from Oncor is CURRENTLY UNKNOWN. That storm was powerful & just came & went in less than 30 minutes & then it was sunny again.

What’s your expectation of construction that can hold up to freaking tower crane collapsing on to it.
In theory a parking garage that holds up cars should be able to hold up a lattice boom falling on it. Or at least crumple it by a few stories. Parking garages are robust structures. This crane cut through like a hot knife through butter.
ETA: a closer looks it appears that the reinforcing steel was simply welded wire mesh. That’s crazy.
