Could you ever see yourself working in a place like Nola?

What do you feel is the number one reason our police force is so sorry here and so understaffed? Money or mostly other issues?

Richland county has no gun control when they talk to people. Also a huge pet peeve when they walk in front of there squad on traffic stops

What do you mean by "no gun control"?

Do you feel female cops get more shite than male cops?

Most do. My job is already hard enough. I don't need people hating me because of a dirty cop.

All fun aside, this is a great thread. People are curious about LEO's and it's cool that you want to be asked questions.

Thank you for what you do.

I was a cop for 25 years. I never slept with any badge bunnnies or anyone else. I hated writing tickets but loved serving warrants I ended my career in charge of getting warrants unit

What was the most terrifying moment of your career?

Real question. If your out of your jurisdiction, can you pull me over

Where I work no. Only way if I get permission from that agency. I can't complete the stop. It doesn't happen often. Usually for DUI and someone with a warrant

No. I wouldn't work for a department like that. I would say money and just everything going on. Not a lot of support for law enforcement. But I wouldn't trust the department in general. A lot of negative past

Do you get intimidated by a big guy that you know could kick your arse?

Do you treat a law breaker differently if that person is a fellow LEO?

Not a problem. And thank you for your support. Not all LEO's are bad. Some are but not all. Some do care about people and want to change the community for the better.

You know NOPD is bad when a cop says he wouldn't trust them.

Not really. Fortunately I'm a decent size guy. But I treat everyone with respect and expect everyone can kick my arse.

Couple questions from a fellow LEO.

How many officers does your agency have?

Most amount of dope on a traffic stop?

Have you ever got your arse kicked on the job? Or have you ever let one get away.

Thanks for this thread. You seem like a good dude.

I have several family members in my family who are cops that are good people and one that is a Sheriff of a county and a former sheriff of a parish that are all good people but I still have an inherint distrust for cops initially until proven otherwise unfortunately do to my past interactions.

I'm not saying there bad. I'm sure there is really good folks. But I'm not a big fan of departments like them. Ran very poorly. I'm more a citizen person. I don't want to run call to call to call. I would rather be able to stop and have friendly conversations.

I have a buddy who is a Louisiana cop who says he's seen both BRPD and NOPD do shite while on duty that would get his arse fired before he got back in his cruiser. He thinks it's because of the kill or be killed environments they work in, that most of them just live in survival mode. It's a big reason he said he'd never work with either, but he's got a great gig in a sheriff's department right now, so I don't blame him.

I've been hit pretty hard a few times. Spit on, had poop thrown on me.
And what do you mean get away. Like a foot chase or prusuit?

Yea. Problem is that in New Orleans, most of the calls are not in the type of area where "friendly" conversations take place. More like respond to a call and watch for crossfire.
