Maybe idle air control valve, or the brake booster having a vacuum leak.

Front bushings being replaced on 2008 jeep grand cherokee, quoted $180 each, or $360 total. Fair price?

Jeeps got the death wobble (2010, 2 door, 4" suspension lift, only 45,000 miles)

Where do I start narrowing down the culprit?

Why does it seem like so many mechanics don't want to do anything out of the ordinary. Is it because they don't want to it or do they think we aren't willing to pay for it?

Just a few minutes, it should be located around the fuel tank. It's just a plug and a couple of hoses to swap.

Manufacturers technical websites and engineering help is what makes bringing your car to the dealer your best option. Scanners give you an idea of where in the system he problem may be. That's about it on 90% of repairs. There are a few problems that the scanner could solve on it's own but not many. When a tech at a dealership can get a code , what to a computer and type in the code and/or customer complaint and see a fix that has worked for that exact complaint over 15,000 times on the same make and model year vehicle the dealer has an advantage. Without the dealers the independent repair shops with struggle much more than they already do with fixing things correctly , the first time. Just realized I'm ranting.

TL/DR- when it comes to vehicle repairs , scanners don't make the mechanic , its more training and information made available (knowledge) than any tool.

2002 5.4 lariat supercrew.

Died driving the other day. Cluster died. Theft light blinking. Odometer showing dashes.

Ran down the issue to the PCM relay. Beat on it. Odometer came back and truck cranked. Replaced the relay as that one had a burned spot and was hot as hell.

Did it again this am with the new relay. Any ideas? I read where the fuse block plug gets loose and also bad grounds corroded. I did try another key and it did it with the diffent key in case it was antitheft system although every thread said its the PCM.

Some past history a few years ago I HD the windshield resealed and replaced the gem for piece of mind as it was bought used and I didn't want any electrical gremelins.

Thanks for any help. I already ordered a fuel pump when the starting was an issue thinking that was it. Going to replace it anyway at 150k miles

Edit. Pulled my fuseblock and gem and everything looks great. Could a loose plugin in the fuaeblock cause this issue? The coil gets pretty hot.
