2016 Ford E450 van chassis with V10...

A/C compressor won't turn on (clutch not responding to controls). Refrigerant pressure seems to be ok. Thoughts on what it could be?

Still under warranty... just have to find a dealer that will work on an RV.

$1500

Might as well do a total manual gearbox rebuild.

My lawn mower has a hard time starting if it gets under 40 degrees or so.

The battery gets weak, but just charging it doesn't do the trick. If I charge it and change the spark plug it works every time. I put a new spark plug in every week or 2 during the winter.

WHY?

sounds like it's getting fuel fouled.
Also sounds like the float is sticking causing the cylinder to get full of fuel and the starter cannot overcome the immense pressure of attempting to start an engine with a cylinder full of fuel.
Pull out the oil dipstick and see if the crankcase is over full and/or the oil smells like gasoline.

Damn... I'll do it myself for that much, or find a used one.

The RV is under warranty. No one wants to work on it. "Well, we're not equipped to work on RV's" or some shite like that.

'07 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 92k miles... Always starts easily on cold start. After engine runs about 30 minutes, if I turn it off and go to restart 5-10ish minutes the engine will (sometimes) turn over but won't ignite. Turn the key back to off, try to start a second time and it starts right up. Sometimes it will have a little difficulty and start anyway. Been doing this off and on for about 2 months. Ordered an EGR valve, but haven't had a chance to replace it. Thanks!

ETA? thoughts?

Why should I have to pay for you to use a tool that you need to do your job?

Because people go into business to make money. People have to buy equipment/tools to run said business. There is a cost to purchasing these tools. Ergo the business owner must make enough money to both pay for his overhead/variable costs and turn a profit.

If it's so easy and inexpensive, then fix your own damn vehicle.

The easiest way to check for a vacuum leak is to start the truck. Then spray starter fluid around gaskets. If the idle picks up, you got a leak.

What's the condition of your antifreeze btw?

Interesting you ask. Out of the blue last week I noticed that the heater wasn't producing hot air (We are in Indiana) unless you were moving, as in it went cold when stopped at a light. I checked the antifreeze and it was down by about half. No leak marks in the garage, etc. No white exhaust, nothing. I topped it off and it has been good since.

What do you know?

We have ford expedition that leaked about 1/2 its coolant out in my driveway. I refilled and brought it to firestone where they did complete pressure test and system check. They found nothing and the coolant level has been perfect since. Its been about two months.

Total mystery.

This is one of those times when it rains it pours. I just got #2 daughter's car fixed. Now #1 has a problem. A very loud clunking noise when going from Park to drive or park to reverse. I'm a fix it all dude but this one has me stumped. 06 Xterra
