Yea the people you know down there aren’t like 90% of the population. Most of South America is living hand to mouth in close proximity to each other.

They aren’t shopping with N95s and surgical masks, they aren’t having their groceries delivered or ordering on amazon prime. Their checkout lines don’t have plexiglass. They don’t have hand sanitizer

Are people really this delusional?

The scientific community clearly missed out on your forgone intellectual contributions. If only a teacher or mentor had seen the potential in your ability to analyze an epidemic, the world would have been a much better place.
