If you look at it from a risk management perspective it’s working just fine. You have several hundred million encounters of LEO with the public in a year. A handful go bad. Considering that they deal with the bottom feeders of society on a routine basis that’s pretty good if you think about it.

BTW there were 106 LEO KIA in 2018.

I tend to follow the laws we the people voted for. I fully support the police and law enforcement and all you squids screaming about asset forfeiture...keep your weed at home.

Militarization.
Unions.
War on Drugs.
Civil Asset Forfeiture.
Pay is too low to get better candidates. In the same vein, we need to raise hiring standards if we raise pay.
Not enough mental support for police who see bad shite every day.

All of those are pretty easy to fix.
