However, it takes no specialized skills whatsoever to do so. They aren't worth much, in terms of contribution to the market.

Kind of a double negative buddy. Costco has superior employees to Walmart, the same employees that have no specialized skills that anyone can do.

What about the CEO? How dare Costco not thinking about maximizing profits for share holders instead thinking of their employees

Dude you have no idea what I have solely based on our debate and having seperate opinions. I see you live on the Northshore. I would extend letting you get to know me a little bit over dinner before you make assumptions of what I have and what I dont have. But I doubt you would

I bet that they have better social skills, and are probably harder workers (though neither can be specifically quantified, admittedly)

How many praise their Wal-Mart experience in comparison to Costco?

That is their prerogative.

Like the company cares about helping their shareholders rather than stuffing their pockets even more

You don't think corporations work to increase profits?

I think they do and I'm certainly not an idiot...

shareholder consideration does not factor in to whatever they do to enhance their salaries, bonuses, stock options, golden parachutes, etc., the share value is pretty easy to manipulate on a short term basis, if you think otherwise, you should rethink

I'd imagine most OTers think the lowest net worth they could have is 0.

I am around 50k in the hole unfortunately.

actually that's not a bad idea....I'm certain that you are not as evil as your ideas and I would sincerely enjoy the opportunity to show you the light

not sure I want to meet up with a stranger from OT though...could be a clever trap or something by the Covington branch of Occupy Wall St. to kidnap me or something

while I sincerely appreciate the invite, I'll have to pass...

apologies for my offensive posts, you're obviously a bright person with good, is misguided, intentions
