Don’t have to but it’s stupid not to take low interest loans.

No clue what that is.

Done. Replaced a Ulysse Nardin on whim.

Not a fan of AMs and again, not smart to turn down low interest loans.

I agree. I still look at a menu and try and chose something reasonable and think about cost. I’m just not that into spending a ton of money eating dinner. I’m the same way with wine and rarely ever order a bottle of wine mainly just a glass for the wife and I while at a nice restaurant. Even then we choose something reasonable.

Travel is another thing we usually just extend my PC trip every year for our “big vacation” and book a couple smaller extended weekend trips to ball games. I also mainly just fly coach unless first class isn’t too much more.

If 5 years ago I could look into the future and see myself now, I would definitely think I am rich.

However, my present day self does not feel like it is. I’m Comfortable, but not rich.

Not only can it change in the blink of an eye, sometime in your life, it will. You can count on it.

The point wasn’t that it’s all about restaurants or traveling. It’s just a funny “what life feels like” index and there’s a bit of truth in it.

I grew up in a trailer and a car my dad paid $50 for. I had to keep my feet on the hump and door frame because the rear floor boards were so rusted out you could see the road through it

That’s probably why I over do it when it comes to cars and houses.

Rich is a moving target…if you ever get there you don’t feel there.

Kinda starting to feel that way. Not by a social standard way, but in a way that as a kid, I looked at what I have and would have thought those people were rich.

“Rich” people don’t refer to money as being “rich”, so anyone using that term are typically new money. Wealthy people are the ones that know.

That math ain’t mathing. You are around 40 but haven’t had to work for need of money for the last 25 years. So you have been wealthy enough to not have to work for since you were 15ish years old. Someone die and leave you a boatload of money or something.

I’m comfortable. I have enough to take care of myself and my niece. Retired 3 months ago and can live easily off SS.
