No big deal. As we all know, Louisiana's cities and towns maintain their drainage infrastructure so well.

A tropical disturbance brewing in the Gulf of Mexico could bring up to 8 inches of rain to Baton Rouge, forecasters said Tuesday.

The main threats with this storm, forecasters said, are the possibility of heavy rainfall and the potential flooding. Now is the time to prepare and review your storm plans.

The rain is expected to start Friday and stick around through Sunday, according to forecasters at the National Weather Service in Slidell.

Preliminary rainfall predictions on Tuesday call for 4 to 10 inches throughout south Louisiana, but forecasters emphasized that the estimates could shift lower or higher depending on the exact track, size and speed of the tropical system.

Parish leaders have also said public works crews have stepped up efforts to dig out and clear ditches and drains. A representative with the mayor-president’s office said crews are focused on areas that are prone to flooding.

Amazing how much taxpayer money is wasted on BS when they could have crews ob this full time

as long as our statues, street signs, and police departments aren’t racist - let it flood!

They still haven't dredged Manchac or the Amite from the 2016 flood.

So you know this weekend is going to suck for the capitol area.

that would be a distant 3rd place in terms of rainfall just in the last month and spread out over 2-3 days vs. just hours like those events were. Hard to imagine this being worse than those.

This is great news. What Louisiana needs now is definitely more rain. I think there's still part of the state that hasn't washed away yet.

Could get interesting again in South BR…Spanish Lake still hasn’t completely recovered from that last rain event back in May.
