The one issue with the zipper merge is that car As are Assholes and often aggressively block you from merging safely at the correct merge point. Their bad behavior kind of beats me into submission into joining them as an A.

I don't see that as much here. Actually came across an accident yesterday afternoon that had one lane shut down and most people were zipper merging properly.

I still live in LA, where roundabouts (which are basically just a yield sign) cause mental breakdowns

Roundabouts still get people here too... there aren't many of them though, still a relatively new concept.

And the absurd part is, car A cut in front of a shite ton of cars too. Make no mistake. If the line is hundreds of cars long, car A ain't dropping in at slot 101.

Car A drops in at slot 20 and thinks he's all morally superior to the guy trying to drop in at slot 5.

I saw it was going to shite and read the damn sign a mike back and got over. If everyone did we would barely slow down

So, for clarity.

You think that if everyone just left a mile of open road completely unoccupied, this would IMPROVE the situation?

Good God. This whole thread is proof that the bell curve of IQs is true.

Awesome. So, if it happens to be the right lane that's closed, you'll actually do this shite correctly for once!

I’m car B. Someone will always let you in.

I’ve always been A and I also block those people who crowd the merge point. I thought a lesbian was going to beat my arse once because I wouldn’t let her in.

“Take turns, you a-hole,” she shouted.

“Take a dick up the arse,” I responded.

Kentucky has a zipper merge law but she seemed entitled so…

Why do you hate science?

The zipper merge is great n concept but much like socialism will never work in practice. Americans by and large are general assholes on the road and will either not let someone in, or force our way in.

God forbid a semi tries to zipper merge, its' a very rare instance that someone will let them merge.
