ok, but that is SOMETHING to do.

here's a daily list of things to do in town:
LINK

rebirth brass band tonight at the varsity

there's also the state fair going on right now

my question is: what do people want that BR doesn't have?

Are you really trying to sell that as a plus for BR?

I'm all about culture,

for a place between Lafayette and New Orleans, Baton Rouge is just so completely devoid of it outside of LSU

shite even the accents canceled out for the people that grew up here.

It's quite amazing

Unless the weather is crap there is always something to do in Baton Rouge if you have friends and/or kids.

I'm from BR and people out here in AZ are always amazed I don't have much of a southern accent. I tell them it's because of where I'm from...that people from BR typically don't have a strong accent.

I lived in BR for 27 years. Grew up in NBR and have lived in various other areas of BR. I couldn't get out of there fast enough once an opportunity to finally leave presented itself. I realize others love it there, I was just not one of those.

I completely agree with this. I understand why people may like it, I just don't.

I think I know what you mean. Some people need to do things like backpack through Europe to find themselves for example. I was never one of those people. I just have enjoyment in my friends, family and self. I feel like there are not enough hours in the day I am usually having so much fun and I live in Baton Rouge.

But again, I love my job, my family, my friends and my self and I spend a lot of time with them all. I don't need to experience different cultures or accents to live.

Where do you people come up with this shite?

Spent the majority of my life in the New Orleans area.

Moved out to BR about 5 years ago, and the people out here are much more friendly, polite, etc...

Nola and BR are two very different cities with 2 very different cultures. I prefer BR.

I worked in NOLA three months out of the year for my first four years out of college. I far prefer BR to plant my stakes. Enjoy NOLA no doubt and go there often but prefer to live in BR. But here is the odd thing. I would never go out of my way to bash New Orleans but all I ever hear is "I live in NOLA and BR sucks!" "Culcha"

Baton Rouge must have some of the most lazy culture and fun seekers ever. All I ever hear is "I used to live there and it sucked. So much fun in my new life."

When are the people like you all going to unite prior to leaving and at least attempt to make this place the fun haven you all wanted?
