You can't pick up 910AM very well either .. He is just a product of what you get when you let anyone buy their airtime and put on a show .. The airtime costs so much, they have to make it into a long infomercial to support it ... Plus, after almost 30 years, you'd think he'd finally figure out what a radio show is supposed to sound like ... caller driven radio died years ago .. if you need a caller to kill three minutes of airtime for you so you don't have to ad-lib .. then either do your homework or give it up ..
Rush found the right formula .. find decent guys, pay them salaries, get them producers to line up guests, use your broadcast conglomerate marketing to support the shows, and voila ! you have good sports talk shows .. Why these other guys can't listen to these shows and realize they have the sound people want is beyond me ..
Message boards have killed caller driven radio .. good callers have tons of options at their fingertips now to express their opinions to an even larger, more captive audience online .. all you have left calling the shows now are the old, loser hang ons that expect the host to give them 15 minutes and let them hang on through two breaks .. and some actually oblige, amazingly ..

Started playing religious music............
They are now a fox station I believe..........
910 am... Hard to catch and how they get sponsors to pay them is amazing........The amount of people that listen now compared to when they were on 1210 has to be a huge difference.........

Jon Fine...what a smug terd. He was as smug in person as on the radio. Jon Fine and Blake Andrews was some mighty fine sports talk...a smug yankee with a terrible radio voice and a guy that knows nothing about sports. Great formula for a show. The formula of letting guys buy air time without much research was bad. Gordy is doing it right.

But Blake did bring women's professional football to BR !!

Gordy is a smart guy. 104.9 is a well run station and is pretty solid for Baton Rouge despite the hate it gets from some.

Yeah .. I wish they could get their reception issues hashed out .. but, as more and more people listen on apps and smartphones .. over-the-air logistical needs become less important .. Gordy's a huge social media guy too .. their reach is more than just radio ..

I heard the old caller Dwayne from Plaquemine was killed years back when his forklift got hit by a train .. I didn't realize that until not too long ago ..

Krysan's like the turd that won't flush. He drinks away gig after gig, yet still keeps popping up.
Posted on 5/24/15 at 6:55 pm to TigahRag
Sad to hear but how do you get killed by a train while on a forklift?

Trying too hard to be like his big buddy, Jim Rome.

I think he worked at one of the plants .. probably had ear plugs in .. went to cross the tracks and never heard the train .. probably not paying attention .. just a sad way to go ..

I still can't believe he pissed the SLU gig away .. He had it made there .. He is an alum .. always wanted to be a PBP guy .. He was set up to be the Jim Hawthorne there, literally .. then he got run off over night .. He must have done something really bad ..

That tends to happen when there is absolutely nothing else one can do.

Duane Alleman. He was working for LA DOTD on a road grader near Grosse Tete and crossed the tracks in front of an oncoming train.

Not sure who that is...............

I would say that's a tribute to Rush's judgment and business acumen. The worst was some guy on some Ascension Parish station that would just scream all the time.
