I felt kinda bad videoing him like that....but he was cracking me up I couldn't help myself.

He was totally back to normal in a few hours though. They had taken our lab first to get his cleaning and Butters freaked out that they were separated....so they had to use a little more anesthesia to be able to fully sedate him(that's why he was so "drunk" afterwards).

I have a pair of Havanese 9 yrs old - had their teeth cleaned twice - no more - too dangerous - with the help of wife hold them down and brush about every other month.

Oh and I think you have to pay a one time fee to enroll in the plan as well(think it was $100...but that was 9 years ago).

I've heard of vets starting to offer similar plans as well...so see if your vet offers something similar.

I don't like it either but what choice do I have right now other than anesthesia to have his tooth removed. The dog just ate fwiw but someone posted an infection could kill him, I just want what's best for him and anesthesia seems like our only choice right nkw

The previous year they had taken Butters first and our lab freaked out...and he was the one that came home "drunk" and he kept walking into walls.

I have to bring them this month...guess I just have to decide which one I would prefer being more "drunk" when I pick them up. Probably Butters...cause he just sat there the whole time...while our lab kept running around and running into things.

if he ate, I may consider putting off until Monday if you need to avoid the emergency fees...but I would say anesthetic for removing that tooth is eminent.

Thanks. Just got here they wasted my time telling me to come in on the phone bc I just came and they close at 6 in 52 minutes and can't do it bc he needs a cleaning and 2 extractions, two teeth side by side.theyre closed tomorrow and said to come back Monday. Do you think I should wait or find another Er? They said he'd be fine waiting but a few of you on here said to resolve this asap

If he's eating he should be ok.

Especially if they looked at him and said it can wait until Monday.

We give dental bones to our dog and we have chicken flavored toothpaste. I put it in my fingers and rub her teeth. She LOVES it.

We haven't had to get her teeth cleaned since we got her 3 years ago.
