Holy shitballs dude. Yes, I meant "turbine" not "pump" in my 2nd post. That is pretty obvious. But you obviously didn't understand the third quote in the first post. You can double down on stupid though.

You were trying to correct me when I typed, "So the oldest pumps have 4 turbines, and only 1 was even operational at the time. Damn, that is pretty bad."

That is exactly what the quote said. There were 4 turbines, with only 1 being operational, to power the oldest pumps when the flooding happened over the weekend. That degraded turbine was only brought online after the working turbine caught fire on Wednesday, after the flooding. I'm sorry you can't read.

I'll patiently wait for you to triple down on stupid though.

So pointing out a frick up on your part, which you admit was a frick up, is "doubling down on stupid?"

I guess tripling down would be continuing to correct someone who writes sloppily and uses the sloppy style to hide behind. "NO NO NO, I MEANT THIS!"

In spite of you bringing up all kind of other quotes which I didn't touch because it wasn't relevant to what I said. My only comment was to you saying that a pump has a turbine. It doesn't. The original article doesn't say that. My summary in the last post repeats what the article says.

Saying a pump has a turbine is like saying my refrigerator has a nuclear power reactor. It's the same thing. Outside source generates power, sends it miles and miles to the load via wires. Those pumps has no more ownership of those turbines than my fridge does of a nuclear reactor.

It's not that I can't read, it's that you can't write.

G'Day.

I read it as:

3 of the 4 turbines were already offline... The 4th caught fire so NONE were operating at some point... but we retrofitted a 5th one in real quick - so now 38 of 58 are working perfectly using only a quarter of the turbines required.

Says the guy who typed this gibberish
quote:

That's not what your quoted but said

And as far as this goes...

What the hell are you talking about? We're only talking about that third quote. You know, the one where you said the turbine was operating on limited power. You know, the part where you were totally wrong and still don't comprehend that? It wasn't operating on limited power. It has since caught fire and is replaced by one that can't power all those older pumps. Do you understand now, or are you going to keep digging your same hole?

I have to ask, are you an engineer or an engineering student?

Are they those the ones with the 100 year old GE motors from an era when things were built to last?

It looks like some rain clouds formed on the Westbank of New Orleans in the last few minutes. Nothing so far for the city. I bet Landrieu has a nice stripe in his underwear.

Task force units were all just activated by City Hall "because of the weather," and nobody knows what that means. If it floods, I guess we'll be spending overtime for people to sit at the district stations and not be able to drive in the flooded streets.

Some of the pumps didn't turn on until hours after the flooding stopped.
