Are home-schooled kids counted as students in their school district of residence?

My understanding is that when Louisiana calculates how much funding a school district receives from the state, one consideration is the number of students enrolled in that district. For funding purposes, is a home-schooled student counted as being enrolled in the district where he resides?

They can play on public school sports teams even if home-schooled. I imagine they can also take advantage of other extracurricular activities offered by public schools

That is incorrect. Not in Louisiana. Yet.

Nah you're incorrect. It's at the discretion of the principal but homeschool kids can play on public school sports in Louisiana.

Why is it bullshite? The parents are paying the same taxes everyone else is in terms of public school funding.

it’s not about taxes. It’s about academic requirements and allegiance to the school
