Yeah no college I know of has a Scientist Degree program. A lot of Engineers specifically Chemical Engineers work in R&D or research and development.

Engineers can be scientists but scientists are not engineers. Many corporations R&D departments are staffed with engineers. Applications I know of range from Chemicals, plastics, oil, automotive, pharma, electrical and many more.

I’m an engineer but don’t consider myself a scientist. I took tons of chemistry in undergrad, but my career doesn’t require “science” in my opinion, which doesn’t mean much.

Engineers are scientists who have to be concerned about how much it costs.

My degree says bachelors of science so yes I am a scientist.
