I spent 12yrs in the system and became addicted to learning about the origins of the Bible off and on over the years.

No wonder you walked away.
You were taught a man made religion. You were taught that being good enough equals salvation. That’s DAMNING. That’s pharisaical. Jesus made fun of the folks who tried to earn there way!!

The whole point of Christianity is that no one could ever do enough to attain heaven. If we could earn it, then Jewish methods of atonement would have been enough, but they weren’t. See Hebrews, the need for a Savior, and the entire New Testament.

The only one who could attain heaven by God’s standards was, wait for it...God Himself in the form of man (Jesus), whose perfect righteousness becomes our own upon belief. See Martin Luther’s “alien righteousness”.


For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Cor. 5:21

What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh?2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say?
