Are all Motor Vehicle Inspection People A-holes?

It's like Seinfeld could have a field day with these guys.... Inspection Nazis. Holy smokes. Finally found one today who was polite, but the previous 4 were all outright rude, condescending assholes. What's up with these guys? Does that official orange sign go straight to their heads?

My only conversation with an Inspection station has been
"hey I need an inspection"
"1 year or 2?"
"2"
"ok you can pay inside, cash or debit only"
"thanks"

I actually have had two occasions where one of them slapped a sticker on my car without checking anything. Once a couple of months ago and once in the 80's.

Has happened to me. Actually happened last time I went. The owner was there doing inspections, and put the meter on my tint. Had to go 1 block down the street to get one.
