Aptera Solar-Powered Car: Legit or Fraud?

Saw an ad for pre-orders of the $33,000 solar-powered electric vehicle from Aptera.
For the 50,000 faithful who already put down a $100 deposit, the company keeps slipping the delivery date: originally late 2021, then 2022, then late 2023, and now some time in 2024.
Weirder yet, the company's chief marketing officer gives off a stronger Elizabeth Holmes vibe than Liz herself.
WYHI? WYDI?

There's zero chance the solar is anything more than minimally supplemental to a battery and feel good for the owner. Thats just not enough surface area to charge unless you let it sit days between commutes down the street to the grocery store. I imagine a bike would be a better option.

The sign up for that seems too easy to not be a scam

Nope.
Not enough surface area to power anything more than a radio.

Reminds me of Elio and the 3 wheel vehicle they promised out of the Shreveport GM factory. What ever came of that? Their website is still up but little news and a least one story mentions negotiations for a new factory tenant.

WYHI?
A pic would be nice so we can answer the WYHI question.

They're literally bankrupt. 80% of their engineers are looking for new jobs.
Funding is dead they'll never get to production.

They actually refunded everyone a year or so ago.
Shocking.
