Not sure I will ever fully retire but will be semi retired next year at 49.
I will retire from my career but a few rent houses and a few cows will keep me in something to do and mad money.

I should have went into education. I would have started in 2003 and would be nearing retirement with 20 years of service around 2023 at 40% pay. Then I could have leveraged that into a second career knowing that I have mailbox money and can tell people to stick it anytime I want and find something else.

Full Social Security and new house bought 8 years ago (on 30 year mortgage - making extras payments each month) will be paid for.

You don’t happen to work for a large corporate law firm based out of Columbia do you?

I have no desire to retire, but am saving with a target to retire at 60 which is how old I will be when my youngest finishes college. I am fortunate that I built my company from the ground up, and love what I do. I am also fortunate that my employees are pretty capable, and do most of the work. I haven't put in an honest 40 in a long time. I mostly just go in for status updates, meetings with new clients, and lunch.
My dad retired at 59, but got bored and went back to work for another 15 years. He retired again last November, and hates it again. He says there are only so many trips to take, places to fish, and projects to do.
My Mom does not have that problem. She retired at 55, and has only take a few substitute teaching jobs in the 20 years since. She always finds something to do.

Realistically because of likely needing to have good health coverage at that age...I'll likely retire at 65.
Although with the pension plan I am in...I will have my 80 points when I'm 55 and could retire then if I really wanted to. But if I wait till 59 another multiplier kicks in and I would get much more a month. Even more so if I wait until 65.
Although I could do what many at my hospital do...retire when they hit 80 points or a multiplier after that. Then they wait 3 months and they are able to come back and work part time, though they are limited to I think how many hours they work in a year. Know many employees at my hospital that collect their full pensions each month and work part time to help pay for insurance until they are 65.

39 and don’t plan to retire

I'm 57 and would retire tomorrow if I could. But I was late to the game with my degree, have always worked for consulting companies who have no actual pension/retirement options other than 401 K and didn't have that until I was in my mid 30s. Plus my last kids starts at LSU this fall (2 at LSU now). I'm shooting for 67.
