Winona. Needs to be centrally located but further from Louisiana and Jackson, but still have interstate access
Grenada is better than Winona then.
Winona is shite

No mention of how a republican ran state has a failed water system in it's capital system that's been neglected for the last 75 years. All blaming, no accountability. The state doesn't run a city's water supply you stupid frick.
Not to mention he says it was neglected 75 years. Republicans didn’t gain full control of both chambers and governorship of MS until 2010. Our govt was democrat most of those 75 years

“20,000 customers in Jackson have overdue water bills totaling $45million+”
Of course you’re going to have an infrastructure problem..
But let’s blame someone else!!

Jackson, Mississippi — which is 80 percent Black — is without reliable running water. The city will not be able to produce enough water for fighting fires or flushing toilets. I know you’ll be shocked but the long-standing problem is a result of decades of structural inequality.

Does this mean the Flagship University of Jackson Millsaps can’t flush their toilets?

I remember a while back there was a thread talking about the most overrated cities in America. Somebody posted “Jackson, MS. Not because anyone thinks it’s a great place but it is always even worse than you thought.” This fits.

I think they can flush (for now), but they shouldn't drink anything coming out of the tap. The ability to flush might be at risk soon though.

I'd go with Hattiesburg or Laurel.

Fire at plant last year took out an electrical panel that controlled the pumps. Nine months passed by. Not a peep. A couple of reporters FOIA'ed the health department for the emails between the city and department and found out the city had not ordered the panel yet. The Mayor blamed the supply chain. Uh huh. It turned out the city did not order the panel until January - after the state gave it 30 days to order the part. The city did so on the 30th day. You can't make this up. The part finally arrive around May. Yeah, they went without that panel and its pumps for a year because they couldn't get off their arse to order the part for nine months.
The sad thing is, pump panels aren’t hard to replace. They come pre wired. All you have to do is hang them up, connect the power source to the disconnect, ground them, and connect pump power wires to the bottom of the starters, and check the rotation of the pump. It’s like a days work at most.
Hell if there is a supply chain problem getting panel I could direct wire the pump to a disconnect switch, you just won’t have overload or short out protection and risk burning up the pump. But if the city needs water you do what you gotta do lve done it many times on the farm with a 60hp well.
But that’s incompetent govt for you.

Used to be the blacks had to drink out of a separate fountain. Now it’s equal because nobody gets to drink out of any fountains.

While I may have eaten some arse over the years (no pics) you can count me out of drinking any.

Most, if not all, of the hospitals in the city limits have their own water supply.
I know Millsaps College has talked about trying to join with Baptist hospital to share private water.

30-40 years of hiring workers who couldn’t care less, going through the years till government retirement. Government workers just don’t care and in many cases too stupid to actually do anything work wise

They couldn't flush toilets on the second floor of the Capitol. They literally put Porto Johns out in front of the building.
