He did it in front of her? Right after the break up or something? He's likely not a highschool kid if he's 19....maybe they meant it as his highschool gf though. Everything I've read and heard sounds like he was alone though.

Plenty of 19 year olds in high school. Hell my school WM had a quarterback that turned 19 years old this month in Slade Bolden.
I saw a man kill himself when i was 14 in our back yard. My brother and i heard shouting outside next door after we went to bed. Peering through the windows we saw commotion in the bushes next door and went and got our parents.
He jumped into our backyard; hid in our bushes while next door neighbors were screaming something i could not make out: Then one "BANG". Crying and screaming and became a police ordeal in our backyard. Crazy and frightnening.
