You have a bunch of roommmates if you are paying $600 and being anywhere close to Uptown. $1150 is a lot for a 1 bedroom in BR but let’s not act like Dallas is a steal in the apartment game. Uptown 1 bedroom is likely ~$1600 or so.
Yeah, I don't see how you'd have a non ghetto apartment in any city for $600.

Honestly, if I became single, I’d go back to the garden district into a house. I lived on the parade route in a very cute house and loved it. It’s a blast to throw a party every year for the parade, and then the rest of the year you have the perk of being basically walking distance to the overpass
Yep. I'm single and within his age range. Downtown, the Garden District, and Southdowns are the only places I'm living if I have to live in BR.

650 1 bedroom recently renovated apartment. Nothing luxurious but right next to Greenville. Sandwiched between some nice neighborhoods.

You are either inflating the quality / location or you have a place priced hundreds under market value.

The garden district is ghetto though

Like I said it’s nothing impressive, and obviously a steal, but even the higher end of rent prices in Dallas vs BR made way more sense compared to what the benefits are in each city.

Don’t pay extra money to live in DT BR
If you work downtown, it’s worth the extra money to not have to deal with the shitshow BR traffic every day.

This cannot be emphasized enough.

I know of a 2 bedroom off of highland for 650 per month.

Yeah their gym is legit
Regent was also great for picking up skanky chicks at their pool.
Lol I lived there too and this is all true.

You can do all of that from a house in Captial Heights

It’s an asinine price to live in Baton Rouge man
$1150 is about right for a higher end 1 bedroom apartment in Baton Rouge - especially one within walking distance to amenities.
I paid about $850 per month a decade ago for a very average suburban 1 bedroom and fought I-12 traffic for a year.

ll Those apartments downtown are nice but they are super small. You're paying for living in downtown BR keep that in mind.
You can find something for the same price and twice the space if you go to mid-city, corporate, or Perkins.
I doubt they have the same quality.
You have to pay a little more to get out of the student or ghetto apartments anyways.

Check out The Tapestry across from bocage. Brand new, has gym, business center, nice pool, and some other shite. GF just moved out of them so I'm familiar with the them

I rented in BR for 6 years and moved a lot, I’m well aware that the market is set at that level
I’m saying the market is crazy high for the benefits of the location and city. Baton Rouge’s rent market is completely fricked

College towns frequently have jacked up rental markets. Hopefully all of those newer on-campus apartments at LSU puts some downward pressure on prices.

I lived in the Jefferson for a year and loved it. The price is quite reasonable considering how spacious it is. Like another poster said, it's close to the interstate, good restaurants, and close to the bars that cater to the 25-35 age range.

Any idea what their 1 bedrooms run for and if she had any complaints?

I think her 2 bedroom was like 1400 but I'm not positive. No complaints on her end. They have a pool table with outside grills and flat screens so I didn't mind hanging around the place. They also have a concierge kinda guy that's there Monday-Saturday that will help out with random shite
