I'm just starting and have questions, mainly about the drug screens.
Are any of them random or only on the dates of the "interviews?" Saliva tests or only urine? Did you get a spiel from Asad, the drug testing dude?
Did you tell your handler when you were leaving town? What's with that?
What did you do for your public service, besides mandatory litter detail?
Any other tips appreciated!

Ima go ahead and say, now would be a damn good time to push the drugs and alcohol aside for a bit...

He is trying to show his indignation with the system, Jones. He's a rebel.

I did it years ago. I never had a drug test or anything like that. I only met the probation officer the day I got put in and basically he just said don't get in trouble any time soon. You will have to go to the Angelwood place for driving school and they have a social worker who interviews you and decides if you have a drinking/drug problem. Other than that the court should give you a list of places you can do community service. And I think you may have to go to AA meetings.

Your best bet is to not make stupid statements about legalization and just don't smoke.
Once it's legal, sure, smoke away.
But for now, just follow the rules and get out easy.
Don't feel entitled during the program. Just do what you are supposed to do

You will never have a job where you don't punch a clock and have your name on your shirt.

Only on the dates of interviews, urine tests, they dont watch unless you show up diluted (they will call you back in). Let them know if you leave town for more than 3 days. Besides litter detail go to the fire station, wash trucks for 3 hours and they sign off for 8.
Main tip is dont be an idiot.

Urine. But if you return positive they may be harder on you or kick you out the program. I would just make sure you don't drink the week of your meeting. They may or may not test you. They usually tell you the day of. As for drugs, I wouldn't even touch them unless you know how long it stays in your body.

do you know if it is supervised or unsupervised probation? I'm assuming unsupervised...so you just need to stay out of trouble in that case...good luck

Testing/program lasts a year. There is someone with you in the bathroom while you piss.

I had a breathalyzer for 6 months, meetings with pretrial every month for a year (12 meetings), and 4 years after that of basically probation where you cant get in trouble, they dont check up on you but I would avoid trouble at all cost. It's pricey but worth the clean record and the lessons learned.

4 years of probation? I've never heard of that for a DWI...

It's a 5 year period after you start pretrial, basically if you get another DUI or in serious trouble within the 5 years of the arrest the pretrial will count for nothing.
edit: it's not like you have to check in with an officer or anything, so I guess it's not actually probation
