I was under the impression that the Russians were in possession of Hitler’s alleged remains. Is that correct? I guess they performed all sorts of tests on his remains? What about the skulll that was tested relatively recently that turned out to be a woman?

Yes in my post I stated the Russians had his physical remains. The allies had all the records and X-rays. When the two sides finally got together to play show n tell it was conclusively proven HItler died at the bunker. If you read any accounts his wife Eva Braun died and was burned with him. Thus a female skull cap.

It is at least possible that Hitler escaped. The body was not identifiable, and both the OSS/CIA and the Soviets investigated it. It is, of course, also possible that he shot himself in that bunker. Makes total sense that he did -- he was devoted to national socialism, which was over.
As for the OP's question -- of course we won the war. Along with the Russians, of course.

Your personal feelings about Hitler obviously cloud your judgment. And one thing Hitler most certainly wasn't was a pussy. If you actually knew more about him you'd know that suicide over flight or surrender was regarded as the honorable option.
And essentially ALL of Hitler's senior folks were captured or killed in Europe. Mengele and Eichmann were NOT senior Nazis and they are the two most famous names of escapees to South America. There are famous because of their role in the Holocaust, not because they were high ranking Nazis.

People here believing that Hitler escaped are ignoring several facts. In the end, he was so messed up, mentally & physically, with drugs & to some degree, Parkinson's, that he was not making any rational decisions. As well, he was quoted by several post war bunker survivors that when he saw the photos of Mussolini being hung upside down by the Italians, he swore he would never be captured alive. That quote is an historical fact. Finally, JG & his family would have left the bunker with him had he managed to escape. That they killed all their children & then themselves is beyond telling. Why would his closest devoted follower not escape with him?
