Anyone served time in prison?

No I’m not about to go to prison but wanted to hear how it is on the inside. I don’t know what I would do with myself. I would go crazy sitting in a cell or constantly worried someone is out to get me.

Assuming you're a regular white dude, you'd probably be taking a lot of deliveries in the back door.

It really depends where you are in the country. In California everything is segregated by race. In Louisiana it’s all a gumbo pot.
Getting in debt or being disrespectful is universal for getting a beat down
Not possible in many places. Often you have a job in the prison. It is best to get a routine of doing things to help time go by
… so I learned from YouTube

Sometimes when I need some motivation in the gym I think to myself I gotta do one more set in case I end up in prison and have to establish my dominance on day one.

I worked in the classification dept at Angola back in the 90’s.
When I got hired they sent me to the hospital to get a physical. I walked into the nurse station and a nurse asked me to sit in the room connected to the ER. There was a glass window you could see into the ER. She told me an inmate was coming from camp J and would be a few minute.
Inmate gets wheeled in and he had blood on his jumpsuit in his abdomen area. He is screening and doc tells him to shut up. Nurse comes where I’m sitting and I ask her if he got stabbed. She said no he slammed his dick in his locker box.
I was like WTF? Found out later inmate just wanted a trip out of camp J so he put his dick in the locker box and slammed it shut.
99% of the inmates are psychopaths. They were 4 groups of inmates Alpha/Gorillas. They ran shite and had a punk galboy. Weak/ galboys and inmates that got along to get along. Finally you had the complete psycho no one fricked with.

I watch a lot of Love after Lockup and jail reality TV. No place I’d ever desire to be.

More likely I wouldn’t eat and become super skinny as the guards laugh.

Everyone says that (myself included) but some say it really does drive people crazy. It’s even the little things: sometime lights are left on 24/7, meals are served at odd times, and no windows so you really get completely turned upside down and have no idea on the passage of time. The isolation does damage to people, not that I have much sympathy for them

lol. This is a common misconception. Going in acting like a badass is the last thing you want to do, Don't get me wrong, don't look weak but be respectful. You might be able to beat the toughest guys in theres arse but you'll be fighting a lot of guys next time enough that you will not win.
Keep your mouth shut and your ears open and mind your business. On the off chance you do all this and still find yourself confronted by an altercation, never show fear or back down. Even if you know you're not going to win you do the best you can. Then when it's over, again keep your mouth shut.
Or so i've been told....
