I replaced all my recessed lights in my ceiling to LED. Got tired of changing bulbs every week or so. Hopefully the LED''s are all they are cracked up to be. So far so good. Really good lighting.

I'm about ready to try out LED's.
There's no difference in light output IMO. You got to buy a more expensive ballast tho.

then just went and bought a $17 electronic ballast from Lowes:
Hope you bought a T8 electronic ballast and not a T12 as in your LINK.
T8 is much more efficient and T12 bulbs will no longer be available much longer.
All this LED stuff is nice, but don't think it is with out its problems. Alot of cheaply made LED stuff coming out now as well.

No I bought the T12 as per the link. I guess I screwed up.
The T8s are those skinny bulbs huh? Can I use the same fixtures and sockets with those?

Did you just replace with LED bulbs or go full out and get the LED fixture thingy?
My mom has been wanting me to change the light bulbs in her living room because I am the only one in the family tall enough to do it. I am getting tired of changing the damn bulbs once every 6 month or so. So I am fixing to take her credit card to home depot next week and replace every single damn one of them with the ones that have 30 yr lifespan. They should outlast her and I won't have to worry about it anymore and I need a recommendation. I can't decide between putting these in or just a replacement LED bulb.
