Life coach = personal motivational speaker.

Imagine being that lazy.

Then I’d have to interact with the kind of people that think life coaches are real

Yes, two women
One is a life-long failure full of "wisdom" and will help you find your animal guide or spirit animal.
othe is a successful profession, but personal life is a struggle.

My ex-wife was my life coach.
She was always telling me what she thought I should do.

I’ll bite.
I’ve got personally hired one. He’s a buddy of mine from LSU, and works in NOLA (fitness trainer).
I own two businesses, work 60-80 hrs/week, stress a ton, and health is on back burner.

The main reason I hired him was accountability. I have no boss. I have a wife and family, but wife knows very little about day to day operations, goals, struggles, etc of businesses. I needed someone to keep me accountable for goals, numbers, staffing, etc.

Next help I needed for obviously health, as sitting at a desk for hours on end for years has led me to gaining 40 lbs in past five years. He has put a plan out there. It’s simple. I just need to follow it.

Been with him 8 months. Businesses are better than they’ve ever been, and part of that is bc of him. Health still isn’t there, and that’s all on me.

Wife is friends with one, but this is her third or fourth “job” since she’s known her. The rest were various Facebook SaHM businesses. Advocate, essential oils, etc.

Congrats on capturing the fall of journalism in Baton Rouge so perfectly and succinctly.

It’s hard for me to justify paying someone that’s never actually done it in buisness. I have mentors but it isn’t this transactional. We make money together

A life coach would technically be a counselor, but most are closer to being palm readers than actual counselors.

LinkedIn is full of them. I think I know at least 4 very well. Anyone that burns out on their job is becoming a “life coach”.

I have been asked to speak to a class of highschool seniors twice so far.

Wouldn’t say i was a coach by any means but i explain how to stop being a candy arse and how life is gonna be mean an unfair but that’s good and being able to get around that and push past it is how people win and succeed
