If so, what did you do to combat the fatigue?

I'm highly considering it.

I take folic acid and daily vitamins. It seems to have helped. Before taking these, there were some very rough days.

Oh, well frick you then.

J/k. My MiL has RA pretty bad and takes Arava. It works for her with the least amount of side effects.

I have an injection every week of it. Exercise daily if you are not already doing it. I also drink lots of tea for the caffeine. Outside of that I just push through it when the sleepys hit.

Rheumatologist here...

Either you can try and increase your folic acid (take same number of pills of folic acid on day after MTX as the number of MTX pills: ex, if you're on 8 tabs of MTX each week, take 8 mg of folic acid the day after you take your MTX, followed by 1 mg of folic acid daily)

OR..

Try taking "Rheumate". It's a new supplement of folic acid, b12 and curcumin. This needs a prescription but usually doesn't cost more than $25 a month. Should work within 3-4 weeks.

Some patients just don't tolerate MTX and that's okay. Other options out there.

Hope this helps

Thanks bud. I didn't notice the fatigue until my doctor told me to quit taking folic acid on my MTX day. So I might ask her to reconsider.
