Anyone know how Louisiana defines "Main traveled portion of roadway" and "passing"

Ive tried researching the legal definition of each and find nothing. I called LDOT and was told they couldnt give me that information and I would have to fill out a Public Records Request Form to which they charge an estimated fee depending on the request. It would also take 10 plus days to receive said information. Seems a little backwards being that we are supposedly in the information age.

Sounds like you got a ticket for breaking the law and now you’re trying to fight it.
Just pay your fee baw.

If the roadway has an edge line (the white line painted on the right edge of the roadway) this line separates the main-traveled portion of the roadway from the shoulder.

Sounds like OP was passing on the shoulder

"passing" is what you should be doing if you're in the left lane.

what's the context?

What are you hoping to find? That the painted lines on the road don't mean anything?

Not sure
Here is a picture of where I passed.
I turned right off Main St and I guess my right two tires crossed that white line.

Between this ticket and the insurance claim of the guys car you let get vandalized, your insurance rates are going to be crazy.

obviously trying to find a loophole out of driving over the white lines...to not accept anything within the solid whites as the road, is seriously stretching it

Did you break the solid white line passing?

How Louisiana defines what the main traveled portion of roadway is. All states have different laws and Louisiana Title 32 has no legal definition of the term.

I may have gone over the line but I didnt pass or overtake anyone.

Alright, tell the truth. There was traffic and you took a little bit of the shoulder to get to that turn lane.
You passed someone in the process, but it isn't like you were speeding down the shoulder. They were going straight and you were taking a right.
We have all done it. I was pulled over for something similar.
