good luck. Just try and think about what you have to say.

Most of the time you are just making simple requests.
Are your problems more in making requests to ATC or in getting information from ATC. I know a lot of people have issues with Taxi instructions.

One thing that got me was remembering to say I had already listened to the weather forecast, if I didn't tower always gave me the forecast before clearing me.

I would like to add that I only plan on using said plane as a ploy to get more poon.

That is a given. Men would just sit around and not move if not for the motivation of getting more poon.

First off I'm not talking a OT baller Learjet. I'm talking a used Cessna. Flying my own plane is something I've always wanted and wanted to learn how to do. I've not had the first flying lesson, or looked at my first plane yet. I would like to hear from some OT pilots on the headache, time, expense, how many hours I would need to have under my belt to be certified to fly, and own a single prop Cessna. Also would you feel safe flying a used Cessna between 45K-70K or should I up my life insurance the same day I purchase plane?

I would not buy a plane before I had my PPL. My dad just bought a Warrior from a lady that bought it to learn to fly, took 1 lesson and hated it, so he got a deal on it, $12k. It has about 750 hours to rebuild. You can find a nice plane for under $30k.

My wife recently bought me an 1hr long "introductory to flight" from our local flight school. It actually counts as a logged hour towards my license.

If you are not in the air flying the plane for an hour, then it does not count.

I say this because all of your ground classes and work do not give you flight time credit, which is what is actually needed. But stick with it it is a ton of fun.

Been around lots of folks with them, never tempted as my recreational travel plans are much more inclined to International locations.

If I had needed to for work, I'd have done it but I haven't /didn't.

Good luck, don't get dead.

Everytime I think of private aviation I'm reminded of the scene from "TWAt Garp":
