Mine are not on exterior walls so the drain lines are somewhat long. Could that be causing a problem?
The drain lines need p-traps and a vent stack similar to regular plumbing... along with proper slope the lines shouldn't clog.

These units are the exact same principle as a “traditional” unit. Both systems are DX (direct expansion) refrigeration systems.
We install them all the time commercially. Most of the time they go in electrical or data closests.
The principal is you get a unit per room giving more zones. If you are in the front of the house why cool the back to the same temp and vice verca.
Freon leaks sound like a bad installation job. Same with the condensate issues. Just like it’s bigger cousins mininsplit drain lines can clog with algae. Need to flush some bleach down then annually.

Hate to hear this, as I generally think they are the coolest things ever.
When they work, they are awesome. Very efficient and quiet.

Why, they have went downhill in a blaze past 5-6 yrs. Hundreds of thousands had new Lennox units have leaky evaporator coils less than 3 yrs old. Lawsuit happened and ended in 2016. Instead of putting a recall or get rid of the huge stockpile of coils they had made in Mexico, they simply gave those people new coil but same poor quality. They continued to build new units with those coils as well. As a result, another lawsuit has just been filed.
People have had blower issues, heat ignition issues all in new installs less than 2 yrs.
Mine were installed Fall of 2015. I guess I should reach out directly to Lennox about these issues?

The Freon was bad installation but they did fix it.
What part of the installation would cause the condensation issues?
Part of the problems with these things is it is impossible to find instructions for how to get into them and perform maintenance. It's like the manufacturer got together with the AC companies and they decided to keep the manuals secret so you have to call them. As such, can't really access the drain pan to flush. About once a month, I hook a shop vac to the end to clean out drain lines.

What size are the wall penetrations for these?

My architect suggested mini-split AC units in each wing. I wasn’t wild about it and then my builder also suggested them. They were both signing the same song....super effiecient, latest and greatest, high end, etc. So based on each of their recommendations I installed 2 Lennox units.
They have been a pain in the arse since day 1.
I freaking hate these mini-splits in the gulf south. They suck arse. Was in Seattle last week and my air-BnB had one, worked great but here in Florida they are arse.
I know the OT loves these things but I would avoid at all costs in a hot humid climate. The OT may know if a crazy Walmart shooter is doable but is out to lunch on these mini-splits.

My bad. I thought you had to have a complete blockout like a windo unit or the old type of hotel ac. Thanks!

Nonsense. Those must have not been sized properly. Mine work fine in 100+ degree weather. Better than any central A/C I've ever had.

You realize a mini split is the same thing as a traditional Ac with vents except they don’t have vents right? Thus the mini split name. Mini splits have higher seer ratings so they actually work better and more efficiently.
