Anyone have any experience removing a squirrel from their attic?

I think I might have one in my attic or chimney. I've seen a squirrel just vanish on top of my roof a couple of times. If it is in my attic then I'm sure there are some babies also. I can try to set a trap for the mother but how in the hell do you find and remove the babies? I realize I need to find the access point as well but that is easier said than done. The only thing that concerns me is a potential fire from chewing wires , otherwise I really wouldn't be too concerned.

I got one out of mine with a Havahart trap a few years ago. I didn't find the babies until about a year later when I was replacing soffit vents. Needless to say, they didn't make it. The only access point I could ever figure was that they were squeezing in one of the roof vents.

I had sqirrels and they chewed through the alarm system wires.

Called vexcon (billy the exterminator) and they sealed everything, got rid of the furry tail rats, and guarenteed the work for a year.

Best money i ever spent.

My brother-in-law had squirrels getting in his attic through a relatively small gap in the fascia board between the top edge of the gutter and below the shingles and flashing. You couldn't see it from the ground (3 story house).

There was a tree limb right by the corner of the roof and he suspected that's how they were getting on the roof. He went into the attic, looked around in that area and spotted outside light coming in from the hole.

He trimmed the limb, but left the hole open so he didn't trap any squirrels in the attic. He eventually caught sixteen of those fuzzy bastards. He's always been a nice guy and an animal lover, but he's developed a hatred for squirrels.

25 dollars at lowes. I used peanut butter and peanuts as bait. Captured the little pest took it to a tree lined park several miles away and released.

We had one in our attic. Sounded like a huge raccoon walking around. I put my trail cam camera up there and videoed a little squirrel hopping around. I put a cage up there and caught him and relocated him. But if you think there is a nest then this is a bad idea. Instead buy some Ammonia and completely soak an old shirt. Throw it in the attic. It will smell so bad the squirrel will move her nest and babies out of the attic.
