Wife's boss owns a Tesla Model S. She (boss) loves it.
We had her over for my wife's birthday party. When it ended we asked if she was "Ok to drive home"
Her response: "I'm not but my car is..."

I wouldn't mind one just for city driving. It's not great for diesel trucks like I have (or any gas car really) for daily 5-10 minute trips where it doesn't even get up to operating temperature.

It's not great for gasoline powered cars either.

I love my Tesla.
It is worth every penny.
I cannot begin to tell you all of the "hidden" benefits of the car..
Some of the favorites are the map - 17" display, with real time traffic -- it really spoils you.
The radio - slackster internet radio -- you want to listen to a song? Push a button and say "play song" - it really spoils you.
The auto pilot - I only use it if I take trips to Slidell or Nola. it is much better at saving energy than I am.
But, without question, the main benefit is ---- SPEED. Pure speed.
