It's not great for diesel trucks like I have (or any gas car really) for daily 5-10 minute trips where it doesn't even get up to operating temperature.
My LB7 spends a lot of time running in my own driveway while I get ready everyday.

The auto pilot - I only use it if I take trips to Slidell or Nola. it is much better at saving energy than I am.
I'm not, necessarily, a proponent of self-driving automobiles, however I can see the need and utility in certain New Orleans neighborhoods where it might help for the "driver" to have both hands on his weapon and his "head on a swivel" in order to egress the area safely.

I get what you are saying, but head on a swivel is a poor trade off for the utter target you are. I have driven through really bad areas before in the Tesla..... and it is not fun.
You get attention no matter where you are, sometimes that attention is not positive attention....
This is why we have the third vehicle --- 2010 mini van -- I shite you not I feel invisible when I drive this thing.
In the Tesla, I always feel all eyes on me. In the Seinna -- I'm the invisible man.
