Go to the nearest clinic that is testing. say you are feeling short of breath and starting to feel sick. They won't question it and will test you

Worst case scenario, give it to nurse at your primary care doctor and they would sign it. Just show up to the front desk with your lab report.

I had this problem when I got a hand injury on days off. You will be surprised how calling HR four times a day will make them back off.

I was tested in a drive thru site and called with the results so I never actually saw a doctor, now my job wants a doctor release but I can't find a doctor to write me one because they obviously weren't involved and they're somewhat overwhelmed with other Covid cases.

What the frick am I supposed to do about this?

You should get an email form that says you are positive or negative. The Negative letter is your doctor's excuse. You need to contact the organization who ran the drive through that you need hardcopy or email form to return to work.

Where I work anyone who gets tested has to have that form to return to work if they are negative and for proof of illness for excuse for time off. If positive they have to have a negative test document to return to work.
