First year on the job, get to come back home to the conference after moving 3 years ago.

It's the tech conference for educators. At the renaissance tues-thurs.

Their app is decent. There's a few sessions I wouldn't mind attending but not a whole lot of groundbreaking topics.

The TLS (this summit) app is pretty cool.

They reported no bugs and they just released it.

Havent been back to BR for more than a day in 3 years so gonna be cool to be back for a few days. Drinks/Dinner paid for by vendors, not too shabby for a work week.

The educational tech we offer to students is mostly Apple and SMART products. Since most of the LA schools are running 1:1 with Chromebooks, there are a number of sessions geared in that direction.

I'm curious about the Google Classroom presentation and may take a trip down there on Thursday.

Yea I'm checking out that google classroom class, we are flooding this parish with chromebooks so its going to be interesting

Not sure about this statement. Maybe a good bit of the bigger parishes but certainly not 1:1 in "most" of LA

Not saying most schools in LA are running 1:1...apologies for the poor word choice.

Was saying that most schools that run a 1:1 program are using Chromebooks.

Yea, that's pretty accurate.

In Ascension we were 1:1 iPads but here in god's country they are pushing the chromebooks

interesing, that was the direction they were going...we are 3 years away from there, wife taught at DMS out there, a little time can change a lot.

Chromebooks are the norm here, we just did state testing trying them out for the first time in our parish and it went okay, the wireless network caused issues but it was a good start, we are about to flood them here in ST. L.

watch out for whole school/district online testing. APSB had a MASSIVE SNAFU when they tried to do an ACT online. Make sure you can handle the traffic or shite goes South REAL quick.

We are going to be 10GBps after July, we are at 1GBps now so it shouldnt be an issue.

They are throwing so much in the DRC i would expect that to end up being the issue. It won't be bandwidth for this parish, I was actually shocked when I got on here and saw they were already at Gigibit w/ DETEL and will be at 10 GB before next school year.

We did LEAP this year and we still staggered it over a month. We are very aware of that issue at Ascension, I know Jake and heard about it.
