anyone getting random out of state phone calls?

i rarely use my cell phone, less then 6 people have my number, i havent bought anything recently, and its not new and i've had this number for 8 yrs now
yet since last monday i have been getting at least 3 out of state phone calls almost every day.
im talking rode island, new mexico, arkansas, and utah
and a few others i forget where, wtf is going on?
is it just about the elections or what? and how is my cell number suddenly out there on the national database for solicitors?

My AT&T plan comes with ActiveArmor which auto-blocks spam calls. Has seemed to help quite a bit.

Yes.... my damn warranty expired. A few weeks ago I stayed on some chick answered, I just asked what are you wearing now, long pause then hung up.

since posting this just 2 hours ago i have had calls from new jersey, california, and just now from colorado.
i havent answered any of these calls so its not like i did anything to confirm its a good number, this shite is crazy
