Anyone ever work in Middle East

Non military question. Friend of mine was offer a job to go there 28/28. How was it? How much $ would it take you to go back?

Is your friend white? If he is, DO NOT go to Saudi Arabia, they will lob your friend head off. If he's a minority, they won't bother you.
If he's Black, he could pass for a African Muslim.
If he's Spanish, he can pass for an Saudi Male.
If he's Chinese, the Muslim don't care because the Chinese don't give a frick if one of their own get killed. They have a population problem.
If he's Indian (dot kind) then he as good as one of their own.
If you go do not profess your faith OR claim you are an atheist. That's head cutting territory.
Also do not look at their women, also head cutting territory.
Other then that, it's a very nice place to visit!

I worked in oman. Definitely not saudi. It was a cool experience. I would prefer to live there than work a month at a time like i did. I was in the desert, which sucked... But the city muscat was cool and felt very safe. Some of the arabs would get fricked up in the hotel bars and would let their religious guard down. I never had a bad experience with anyone while there... And i would say everyone was extremely respectful of others, unlike here in the united states.

No, they cut it off a few years ago and I am currently just a head suspended in a viscous liquid contained in a pickle jar.
There are a few issues but getting ones head chopped off is realistically not one.
On a more serious note, there are tens of thousands of Americans working here at any given time, lots off us have been here decades.

What area are you in? Are you living in a compound, how is it when you have to go outside the compound. Everyday life there type stuff. Tips on what to expect basically.
