An extremely territorial and dangerous animal. Good luck with that.

I don’t think anyone’s lived to tell the tale.

and this happened in 1996(?)

NYT - A rare white rhinoceros that broke out of its enclosure today and crossed a highway was shot to death after the animal charged a veterinarian who had wanted to subdue it with a tranquilizer dart.

The rhinoceros, a three-and-a-half-ton female that had been at the privately owned Zoo of Acadiana for only a couple of weeks, broke through a welded pipe fence after fighting with a male rhino, said the zoo's curator, Ron Cline.

A deputy spotted the rhino crossing U.S. 90 shortly before 4 A.M., said Lieut. Ken Franques of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Department.

The authorities surrounded the rhino after daybreak. Then a curator from the Baton Rouge Zoo and a Louisiana State University veterinarian, both carrying tranquilizer guns, circled forward along with Eric White, a Zoo of Acadiana veterinarian who also brought a rifle.

My favorite animals tbh

I always wondered what they feel like. I always assumed dolphins feel like sautéed mushrooms

No, but I got to pet a rhino behind the scenes at the zoo and it was terrifying and awesome.

No but at the San Francisco Zoo the fence to the hippo pool is scarily short, like waste high.

Hippo was chilling by the edge and I was feet from it, DEFINITELY could have reached my hand down and slapped it on its bottom. I thought about it but then decided the opportunity to brag about slapping a hippo on the arse wasn’t worth my life
