You sound very close minded... I thought I knew you better than that.

I've seen a bunch of draws in MMA that were damn exciting.

So you're saying you invest 2 hours in a 0-0 game you walk away pumped up and excited?

there are 2 legitimate responses to this

1. i have the mental capacity to appreciate the process, as opposed to the results

2. if you're still caught up in the results, it's easy to shed the binary win/loss system of competition

USA vs Ghana will be pretty badass IMO considering they have had our number last few meetings.

I will pissed if Ghana does that flopping shite they did last WC. You think NBA players are bad at flopping... you have not seen Ghana yet

I'm not that close minded. I know the sport well. I have watched matches before and understand why certain people enjoy it. But it's not for me and I have my reasons.

If the US does well then great. But I won't go out of my way to catch a match on the pitch.

this whole thing really just falls into the "people hate what they do not understand" thing

soccer is infinitely more exciting than MLB

Well your last post insinuated that a man could not enjoy Soccer and enjoy the company of a woman...

i don't care if people don't like soccer. i can't get into plenty of sports. i will respond in these threads to give legitimate responses, though. soccer fans are like hipsters (and lord knows, hipsters view watching soccer as a badge of fricking honor) in that they love elitist responses to these threads

i try to not let them run the show, b/c it ensures that the curious will reject the sport

Come on dude SFP threw up a fricking softball with that comment

But seriously one of my biggest problems with the sport is exactly what SFP just said. It's a certain type of US fans which I feel is the majority of fans here.

just let me be clear, that was all intentional on my part. any soccer fan who rejects his/her homosexual tendencies does not belong posting about it on this board

I feel bad for soccer haters like I feel bad for people who can't afford caviar.

It's not your fault that you are inbred hillbillies with no appreciation for the finer things in life.

IDK. I don't consider myself hipster or whatever. I watch both college and pro baseball and football. I watch College Basketball like it's my job. But I also watch Soccer. Internationally I love USMNT #1N1T and I also follow an English club team (Aston Villa FC). I've even started following a MLS team in the Dynamo.

I think most people who try and really give soccer a chance would enjoy it. To try and put a face on what a US Soccer fan is reminds me of how people think all LSU fans throw piss balloons and talk shite to 5 year olds...

It's easy to put a label on the worst fans that stick out but the majority of fans are just normal people.

Everyone thinks this, hipsters just made it popular cause it's not a mainstream sport
