Thank you for saying this. I’m still kind of terrified of the thought of actually having a baby. All of the unknowns. I have zero doubts I would love my child and will do everything in my power to give him or her the best life I can. But it’s still scary.

Sorry to revive a day-old thread, but I just saw this. If I recall, you're a female, yes? If so, I don't want to say it's easier, but I think men are the ones who have to adjust the most. For a mother, that 8-9 months leading up to the birth just seems to "activate" something that's already there. Not to say there isn't fear and uncertainty; there definitely is a lot of both. But if you happen to be in the same position as the OP, please hear me when I say, don't not have kids out of fear. That part is only temporary.
Trust me when I tell you, when you hold your child that first time, it's like an instant infusion of love and joy, excitement and peace that you've never known before. Everything won't be easy, but nothing worth having ever is. I think you'll do just fine.
